Each May, bird enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels gather on the Island of Montreal for our annual fundraising event — a 24-hour birdwatching competition to observe the most bird species.
For one exciting day, teams of bird lovers, whether beginners, families, or expert birders — compete to observe the most bird species in a single day while raising funds to support our migration monitoring program, educational initiatives, and research projects.
No experience is necessary, everyone is welcome to join in the fun, learn about local wildlife, and contribute to vital conservation efforts. Wait to see the participation prizes that you may win !

1 Big Day
Gather your fellow bird enthusiasts and create a team to represent your college, university, business, or ornithological club at our annual competition!
Teams are welcome to use any form of transportation to maximize their birdwatching adventure.
Team Requirements:
The majority of team members must be 18 years or older.
All skill levels are welcome!
2Family Day
Young bird enthusiasts of all ages are encouraged to join our annual competition!
It’s a fantastic opportunity to nurture their curiosity about nature and introduce them to the world of birdwatching.
Team Requirements:
Children of all ages are welcome to participate.
Each team must include at least one adult (18 years or older) to accompany and guide them.
3Green Day
Make a positive impact on birds and their habitat by joining our eco-friendly category!
Teams in this category must travel exclusively by foot, bike, or public transportation, reducing their carbon footprint while enjoying the birdwatching adventure.
Team Requirements:
The majority of team members must be 18 years or older.
